On October 18^th, the 2015 Changzhou Wujin West Taihu Lake International Half Marathon was held beside the West Taihu Lake. Mr. Wang Zhiguang, Deputy Director-General of Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau, and Mr. Fang Guoqiang, Vice Mayor of Changzou, attended the opening ceremony and fired the starting shot. Ms. Hui Ruoqi and Ms. Zhang Changning, main attackers of China women’s national volleyball team, as well as Ms. Chen Zhan, famous Jiangsu women’s volleyball player, joined and led the race. Mr. Zhang Bin, famous CCTV host, hosted the tournament.

This year’s tournament consisted of three events, namely 5 km race, 10 km race and half marathon. There were 13,336 registered participants, of which over 8,000 were from Changzhou local area. The prize totaled 280,000 RMB yuan. The prize for the champion of men’s half marathon and women’s half marathon was 20,000 RMB yuan each.
